Tree Joins Oracle AllianceSM Program
JDXTM
product brings tremendous productivity gains to JavaTM developers
using the Oracle database
San
Jose, CA - July 8, 1998 - Software Tree, Inc. announced
today that it has joined the Oracle Alliance Program. Java
developers using the Oracle database will enjoy great productivity
gains associated with using Software Tree's innovative product
JDX (J-Database ExchangeTM), a high-performance, platform
independent software for exchanging business objects between
Java programs and SQL relational databases.
JDX saves development efforts for new Java applications by
automating the tedious, time-consuming and error-prone task
of object-relational mapping logic. By providing a very natural
object-oriented interface to store and retrieve Java objects,
JDX bridges the gap between the Java object model and the
SQL relational model. JDX exploits the standard JDBC
interface to link to various relational databases including
Oracle7, Oracle8 and Oracle Lite from Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL),
and will continue to leverage Oracle's support for Java across
multiple tiers.
"We welcome Software Tree to our alliance program. JDX
complements our commitment to providing robust technologies
to Java developers and reducing the barriers of developing
sophisticated object-oriented applications that require access
to relational data," said Shari Simon, Vice President,
Americas Alliances and Business Solutions, Oracle Corp.
"We're very pleased to join with an industry leader such
as Oracle to help customers reap the benefits of object-oriented
programming in Java and at the same time easily access their
data stored in trusted relational repositories such as Oracle
databases," said Damodar Periwal, the founder and CEO
of Software Tree. "JDX simplifies design, development
and deployment of modern distributed enterprise applications
for Internet/intranet environments."
"JDX is an excellent object/relational mapping tool that
applies JDBC methods over Java objects, thus saving developers
months of work. This is a unique combination in the field
of o/r mapping tools," said JP Morgenthal, President,
NC.Focus, an e-commerce and data management advisory firm
in Hewlett, NY.
"100% Java compliance, developer productivity gains and
enterprise scalability were key factors in our decision to
use JDX for database to object mapping," said Scott Opitz,
President of Pennsylvania-based IntelliFrame Corporation.
"The success of our vertical market solutions and our
100% Java-based workflow engine, report generator and GUI
repository services required a high-quality solution like
JDX to provide efficient access to our customers' underlying
Oracle database servers."
